![]() Drunk in Love. Just one of Beyonce’s hit songs on her self-titled album “Beyonce.” You can catch the song on the radio and all over the internet but her recent Grammy performance with Jay-Z truly shined the spotlight on this song and the topic of domestic violence. Check out the following lyrics: I’m Ike, Turner, turn up Baby no I don’t play, now eat the cake, Anna Mae Said, “Eat the cake, Anna Mae!” Here’s a little history on the origins of this lyrical piece: Entertainers Ike and Tina Turner's abusive relationship has been well documented and in the public eye for decades. In 1993, the Tina Turner biopic called ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ shows a scene where Ike violently shoves cake in Tina’s face while shouting obscenities at her and calling her by her birth name, Anna Mae. It is also shows Ike slapping Tina's friend as she tries to intervene and protect Tina. Why do you think Beyonce would include these lyrics in her song? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
